Madeline and the Magic Carpet (audiobook)

Made­li­ne’s ted­dy bears Bud­dy and Sun­ny croc­het a magic car­pet one night, which the trio uses to go on an adven­tu­re. The trip takes them all the way to Africa, whe­re they meet a giraf­fe, an elep­hant and a lion. The­re is also a litt­le boy named Bobo in Africa, whom Made­li­ne meets in a small vil­la­ge. The­re they sing, dance and eat tas­ty vege­table soup.
The sto­ry fuels children’s ima­gi­na­tion, because in a fai­ry tale eve­ryt­hing is pos­sible. The car­pet flies and the ted­dy bears and ani­mals can talk. Mil­la-Mal­le and the ted­dy bears expe­rience dif­fe­rent emo­tions during the jour­ney: cou­ra­ge, curio­si­ty, clo­se­ness and home­sick­ness. The­re are also exci­ting moments when the car­pet gets caught in a thun­ders­torm, but they sur­vi­ve. Humor accom­pa­nies the nar­ra­tion of the story.
Sir­pa Pääk­kö­nen is a Fin­nish jour­na­list and non-fic­tion wri­ter who has writ­ten about wor­king life in Fin­land, Kare­lia and South Ostro­both­nia in her non-fic­tion books.
